 Title: Bury the Lies Artist: Takida Genre: Hard Rock Release Date: 2nd October 2009 (Germany; 16th May 2007 in Sweden) Label: ON FIRE Records Album Review TAKIDA is an alternative rock band from Ånge, Sweden, formed in 1999. The band consists of Robert Petterson (vocals, piano), Tomas Wallin (guitar), Mattias Larsson (guitar), Fredrik Pålsson (bass) and Kristoffer Söderström (drums). A year later, they recorded their first demo ‘Old’ and in 2005 were signed by the Swedish indie label Ninetone Records. Their first single ‘Losing’ came around in 2006 which led to ‘...Make Your Breathe’ and then their second release ‘Bury the Lies’ followed in 2007 consisting of 11-tracks of modern every day Rock’n’Roll lifestyle. Now, this album will be released in Germany as well. ‘Bury the Lies’ opens with ‘The Dread’ throwing out some great guitar riffs with solos to match; that causes the music to balance itself all out and goes straight into the next terrorizing tunes ‘Tear it up Again’ and ‘Bad Seed’. These tunes alone set up what TAKIDA is all about. Their raw upbeat catchy music overlaps itself again and again ripping off some more intense but great guitar riffs with ground-breaking solos to sort it all out having the listeners singing right along with each of the lyrics sung out. Lyrically speaking comes out detailing the real emotions these guys have to face from struggling to enjoying the modern everyday lifestyle of creating music. When it’s all said and done though, TAKIDA has given ‘Bury the Lies’ its proper burial by presenting some upbeat and very out-standing and catchy music notes that will keep your body rocking and rolling until the music repeats itself all over again.
